Welcome to another CARS monthly snapshot. Hope you have all had a moment to read our Year in Review document circulated at AGM last month. Online here, or grab a copy in office.
As a follow up to the AGM and news that CARS is actively seeking a future partner, here is a brief update. There is a feeling of positivity and excitement as the Management Committee and myself continue to progress our conversations to a more formal level with a chosen partner. The process of choosing a partner has involved several discussions with a range of organisations who share the values and approach that we at CARS do. Finding the right match has taken much research, relationship building and consideration. It is a task that has been grasped thoroughly as the CARS Management Committee considered proposals from some highly respected organisations.
As a refresh, what mattered most to us in making a partnership decision for future sustainability was that:
- All support services will continue uninterrupted – that means things stay as they are for our most important people, our clients. Any changes that may occur in the background will be about the ongoing improvement of our services
- CARS name and brand will remain visible as a representation of the place we hold in our local community. We want a partner organisation that understands and honours the history of our organisation
- Services provided by both organisations are aligned and complementary, and will provide greater opportunities for clients and our workforce.
The above has remained at the heart of all partnership discussions to date, and I am confident we will achieve these things. I hope to be in touch in the next few weeks with an exciting announcement and thank everyone for their patience and support as we gather momentum for a bright future. We value the input and feedback of our clients, staff, members and all stakeholders. If you have any questions or comments please give Greg Reinke, CARS President (0407 629 041), or myself (0439 675 636) a call anytime.
In other news, we will be sad to see the lovely Kareena leave CARS at the end of this year. Kareena has been our Administration Officer for the last 18 months and is leaving to pursue family business interests. CARS has been so fortunate to have her professional skills, her warmth and her wisdom in our office during this time. We wish her every success with future ventures. There is some time before Kareena’s departure, so stay tuned for an opportunity to say thanks and farewell.
Carers Week High Tea
To the fabulous carers who were able to join us last week for high tea – thank you for coming along and we hope you had a wonderful time! To you, and all of our incredible carers, we applaud the courage, resilience and unwavering love you display each and every day.
Thanks to Jimmy and his mum, Zoe, for allowing us to share their wonderful story!
Your NDIS plan
We’ve also put together a planning document to help you think about what’s important to you, your future goals and what kinds of supports you might need to help you achieve your goals. It’s a great way to think about how you want to plan for your best future and expand your realm of possibility.
Even more exciting, our wonderful patron, Sharyn Ghidella has agreed to come along for a playdate with the kids. We’re not sure if Sharyn or the kids will have the most fun!
Stay tuned for more details as we confirm more dates and times.
