September 2017 Newsletter

We held our Annual General Meeting on Monday 18th September. Thanks to our members, clients and guests who joined us to show their interest and support of CARS.

Our Year in Review document was presented and is now available. It is a fresh and colourful snapshot of the past year at CARS. Some inspiring client stories appear, along with our key achievements and activities. Please click the image below to read the report, or call into the office to pick up a copy.

Another important part of the evening was a presentation given by Greg Reinke (President) and Mel Fleming (General Manager) on Collaboration and Partnership, and what it means for the future of CARS. It contained information about the National Disability Insurance Scheme as it relates to disability service providers and what we know has been happening for organisations who are in the swing of it all. As with the introduction of any new scheme, it will take some time for clients and the organisation to adjust.

CARS does need some assistance to be ready for NDIS and is actively seeking a partner organisation to support our transition. Our primary goal will always be to ensure we continue to provide quality services and support as we do now, for all our clients. Maintaining the strength of our workforce will be vital to achieving this, and will be another priority. We also know that our history, brand, culture and values matter to many and are seeking a well-aligned partner who will understand and honour these.

We do expect for partnership progress to occur quite quickly so that we can be ready for next year’s NDIS transition. We will keep all our stakeholders up to date during what we consider is an exciting time of change. Whilst there will be much to do behind the scenes, our wonderful staff team will continue with business as usual. Please call me (Mel Fleming) anytime if you have a question or would like to give some feedback.

Whatever your involvement is with CARS, thank you for the part you play in making our organisation great!
